The International Exhibition of Thessaloniki on Friday November 10, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. participated in the conference organized by the Hellenic Archival Society (EAE) on the topic “Archival resources for the economic and productive history of Thessaloniki” at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Thessaloniki. The purpose of the participation was the presentation of the project “A route through Modern Greek History through the Historical-Cultural Archive of TIF-HELEXPO”, which is part of the Operational Program “Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship and Innovation 2014-2020” and the Priority Axis “Development entrepreneurship support mechanisms”.<\/p>\n

In the context of the conference, Dr. Dimitris Kourkouridis made the presentation “A journey through the Contemporary Socio-Economic History of Thessaloniki through the Historical Archive of TIF- HELEXPO”.<\/p>\n

The object of the project is the digitization, documentation and management of the cultural resources and documents of TIF-HELEXPO as well as their promotion through new technologies. The documentation will be carried out by the application of open linked data methodologies and technologies, the development of a documentation application and the connection of material with ontologies and geographic information, the development of a modern, interactive and multi-channel network hub, the development of an audio-visual tour system, the development of a 3D navigation application and the development of a series of educational interactive applications, which will be offered in multiple versions for execution over the Internet and through smart devices.<\/p>\n
