The International Exhibition of Thessaloniki since its establishment in 1925 until today is an integral part of the city and its history. Therefore, the historical archive of TIF-HELEXPO captures the overall activity of the company and especially its cultural contribution. In general, the cultural and historical importance of all the material of the archive is extremely high, as it captures the modern history of Greece, through archives and letters of persons who played an important role in the modern history of the country.\n

\nThe TIF archive includes, among other things, audios, images, letters and reels that are documents, as they concern the two biggest cultural festivals of the country during the 60s, 70s, 80s, and, more specifically, the Greek Song Festival, the International Film Festival and the Greek Film Festival. Also, it is worth noting that during the operation of the International Exhibition of Thessaloniki in the last decades, there were presentations of products that appeared in Greece for the first time, such as the electric washing machine, while through the TIF there was also the first television broadcast throughout the country. At the same time, the facilities of TIF were used as a setting in many Greek films of the 60s. The history and culture of Thessaloniki, and beyond, are inextricably linked and for this reason the historical archive of TIF must be available for future generations. In this context, TIF-HELEXPO with the financing of the Operational Program \"Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship, Innovation\", started from 2022, the digitization of its historical archive. With the implementation of the digitization project, the historical archive of TIF-HELEXPO is preserved and made accessible to all interested parties, in a modern and creative way.\n

\nThe findability of the content is ensured by the inclusion of the material in the Europeana database, the National Documentation Center and the documentation software capabilities developed to offer open interfaces to access the material from any Third Party application.<\/p>\n
